There are two 1-year fixed term posts for a ST3-8 level Trust Grade Doctor in Oncology. This is a full-time post with funded extended hours (for service provision). The successful candidate will work alongside the Specialist Trust Grade residents in Clinical and Medical Oncology at the RUH and be trained via site-specific attachments in SACT prescribing, and the non-surgical palliative and radical management of cancer.
This post will fully prepare the individual for successful application for a national training number in Clinical or Medical Oncology. It offers a unique opportunity to expand clinic skills and experience alongside development of broader professional skills. Applications are welcomed from individuals planning a career in Oncology.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will work with the team of Specialist Doctors in Medical and Clinical Oncology and cover the following:
 * Consultant supervised Site-specific Oncology Clinics x 3 per week
 * Attendance of relevant Site-specific Multidisciplinary meetings
 * Contribution to Registrar extended hours rota and weekend on call 1:7
 * Registrar grade cover of Oncology ward 1:7
 * Registrar grade outreach service working with AOS team 2 mornings per week
Successful Candidates will be expected to undertake a relevant quality improvement project and contribute to the education within the department via journal club and junior resident supervision and teaching.
The above duties will be supervised by a named Clinical Supervisor and named Educational Supervisor. They may be revised or expanded.

Person Specification
Registration (Essential): Full GMC registration prior to commencing this post.
Qualifications (Essential): MRCP or equivalent.
Postgraduate Experience (Essential): Training in the initial assessment and care of the acutely ill patient.
Desirable: ALS.
