Position Overview
Reporting to the Site Tech Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the companies operations by assisting in the delivery of events. This role requires an experienced and professional individual with a passion for delivering excellence. This person should enjoy working within a team and have a good basic knowledge of lighting, audio, and video equipment preparation and maintenance, as well as interest in onsite installations and derigs. This role is split between onsite work in London’s unique venues as well as further afield, and in the Perivale Warehouse.
Key Accountabilities
* Onsite installs and de-rigs.
* Supporting technical departments and warehouse when not on site, including the preparation, testing and maintenance of lighting, sound, video and staging equipment
* Maintain high standards for event production delivery
* Loading and Unloading trucks/vans
* Driving 3.5t Luton vans
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Installation and derig on site across technical disciplines
* Loading and Unloading trucks/vans on site and at the warehouse
* Taking responsibility and care of equipment on site and ensuring its safe return to the warehouse
* Excellent timekeeping and keeping on top of personal work schedules
* Working closely with production and warehouse teams as well as freelance operators and system techs to ensure on time event delivery
* Maintain good personnel Health and Safety
* PAT testing cables and equipment
* Prepping/de-prepping equipment
* Any other duties as assigned
Who are you?
Experience:
Essential
* At least one years’ experience in the event lighting/sound industry or other relevant experience, theatre, TV & film, concert lighting etc
Desirable
* Previous experience in a similar position with a production company.
* Experience in driving Luton/long wheelbase vans
Skills and Abilities:
Essential
* A good working knowledge of event production, rigging, staging and AV.
* Basic computer skills.
* Experience of equipment maintenance including PAT testing.
Desirable
* Experience of working with audio/video/lighting systems.
* Experience of HireHop or other inventory management/rental software
Qualifications:
Essential
* Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable
* First Aid at work.
* Any other relevant qualifications
Disposition and Attitude:
Essential
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
* Willingness to learn new skills and work in all technical disciplines.
* Efficient time management with ability to work to strict deadlines.
* Positive and flexible approach to problem solving.
