We are working with a fantastic primary SEMH school in Stoke-on-Trent who are seeking a resilient, nurturing, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their dedicated team.
This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils aged 5–11 with SEMH needs, many of whom may also have additional diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, or trauma-related behaviours.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant in this specialist school, you will:

Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with challenging behaviours and emotional needs
*
Help deliver tailored learning and behaviour support plans
*
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and supported
*
Support pupils both in and outside of the classroom, including during structured activities and break times
*
Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and behaviour specialists
The Ideal Candidate Will:
*
Have experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or in an alternative provision setting
*
Be calm, patient, and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively
*
Be passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
*
Have strong behaviour management skills and a trauma-informed approach
*
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
