We are looking for a Graduate in the Chief Underwriting Office to join our Allianz Commercial Graduate Program, based in London.
Your Team
The Chief Underwriting Office team works globally supporting and driving business strategy in collaboration with local teams. Collectively they manage 10 different insurance products, referred to as lines of business, ensuring our risk and exposure levels are maintained at a profitable level. This means working with local teams, external partners in the market, and most importantly our clients. This team also has oversight of the Global Pricing, Portfolio Management, Accumulation Steering and Product Development and Transformation teams.
Each product team is responsible for ensuring we deliver strong results, whilst also understanding the context of the bigger picture, e.g. ESG commitments, industry change and the latest innovation internally and externally.
The Impact You Will Have
Based in London and reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer, you’ll closely collaborate with key stakeholders, including Global Line of Business Heads and Board Member Offices, gaining exposure to strategy‑setting, authority adherence, and cultivating the global underwriting culture. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with teams from around the world, maintaining core operating principles whilst discovering innovative solutions to emerging risks and under‑developed market opportunities.
Day‑to‑day Activities Will Include
* Market and portfolio analysis
* Supporting innovation efforts and global engagement activities
* Gaining a detailed understanding of underwriting and insurance
* Learning how portfolios and their strategies are managed and steered through the cycle at a global level
What You’ll Bring To The Role
* Recent completion of a bachelor’s university degree
* Ability to adapt and work effectively in different situations and remain calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Pro‑active and positive attitude towards teamwork, ability to assist others and take ownership of responsibilities
* Curious and creative mindset, keen to learn and drive personal development
* Understanding of business confidentiality
* Ability to absorb information effectively from various sources, analyse data in detail, draw conclusions and present solutions
* Comfortable with MS/Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with an interest in new technologies and AI tools that improve efficiency
* Fluent English language skills
