Role Overview
Join the council as a social worker supporting families and children, helping them to stay together where this is in the child’s best interests.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide frontline social work practice to families and children.
* Offer support and help families to stay together within the child’s best interests.
* Contribute to practice development and delivery in partnership with family engagement groups.
* Participate in group supervision, coaching and other learning opportunities.
* Meet the requirements of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and the Code of Practice for English language proficiency.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a relevant social work qualification and be registered with the professional regulator for social work (Social Work England). Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure a command of spoken English sufficient for effective performance of the job requirements.
