1:1 Tutor - Help Young People in Croydon Reconnect with Learning\n\nPart-time | Term-time only | Flexible hours | SEN & Mental Health Support\n\nSome children can't attend school right now - but that doesn't mean their education should stop.\n We're looking for committed, understanding 1:1 Tutors to work with pupils in Croydon who need personalised support to re-engage with learning. These students may have special educational needs, social or emotional challenges, or be recovering from difficulties with school attendance.\n\nYour role will be to create an encouraging, tailored learning experience that helps them feel capable, valued, and ready to take the next step in their education.\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\nProvide individual tuition in English, Maths, Science, and other key subjects.\n\nMeet learners in their homes, libraries, or community settings across Croydon.\n\nUse creative, adaptable teaching approaches that meet each student's needs.\n\nBuild trust and motivation in students who may have been out of education for some time.\n\nWork closely with parents, carers, and schools to track progress and next steps.\n\nKeep accurate lesson notes and progress reports.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n£27-£31 per hour, plus opportunities for bonuses.\n\nWork during school hours - your evenings and weekends are your own.\n\nFlexible part-time hours, usually 6-15 per week.\n\nAdditional students available if you want more work.\n\nA meaningful role that directly impacts young lives.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nTeaching or tutoring experience (SEN/SEMH experience highly valued).\n\nA patient, empathetic approach and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.\n\nExcellent communication skills for building positive relationships.\n\nAbility to work independently and manage your own timetable.\n\nEnhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and safeguarding knowledge.\n\nDriving licence and access to a vehicle preferred for travel in Croydon.\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\nFor some of our students, your sessions will be the first positive educational experience they've had in years.
