GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Worker to join a supportive and dynamic team in Christchurch, working with students who need tailored assistance to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities of the Learning Support Worker:
* Provide individualised and group support to students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement tailored learning plans that reflect each student's unique needs and strengths.
* Assist with the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, incorporating sensory, therapeutic, and enrichment activities to promote holistic development.
* Support students in developing life skills, independence, and confidence through structured routines and meaningful learning experiences.
Requirements of the Learning Support Worker:
* Experience supporting children or young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, either in an educational or care setting.
* A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach with a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Team Teach, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
