About The Role
Due to continued growth, Ocado Logistics is launching a brand‑new site in Stoke. As Delivery Operations Manager you will play a pivotal role in site performance and customer experience, leading a large team and being accountable for operational KPIs, resource planning, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
* Full accountability for Stoke spoke operations, including staff, facilities, vehicles, and customer experience.
* Lead, develop, and motivate a team of 300 colleagues, including 5 Team Managers, 2 Site Support and CSTMS.
* Manage performance through operational KPIs, on‑time delivery, absence, health & safety, and colleague development/appraisals.
* Oversee a large‑scale operation of 100 vans delivering approximately 25,000 weekly orders.
* Plan resources and budgets effectively, ensuring operational and financial targets are met.
* Maintain strong communication across all levels, driving collaboration and customer service excellence.
* Take ownership of admin and data analysis – advanced spreadsheet skills are essential.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced operational leader who thrives in a logistics or distribution environment.
You’ll Have
* Proven experience in a senior operations or site management role (transport/fleet management is essential).
* A track record of managing large teams in a fast‑paced, service‑driven business.
* Strong leadership skills – charismatic, approachable, and able to inspire and motivate.
* A self‑sufficient, proactive mindset, with the confidence to use initiative and drive improvements.
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Experience in high‑volume logistics businesses is highly desirable.
