Role: Trainee Transport Team Leader & Order Processor
Salary: £28,000 - £29,000 per annum
Location: Newcastle
We are looking for a Trainee Transport Team Leader & Order Processor to join our growing Transport and Operations team at our Newcastle Depot.
You will serve as a key point of contact for our Waste Services customers, therefore your passion for delivering excellent customer service is essential. Alongside this, you will support the coordination and development of a team of drivers, helping to ensure our day-to-day logistics operation runs efficiently and safely.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where strong organisation, communication and decision-making skills are key to success.
Job Activities:
1. Welcome and support customers across multiple communication platforms including telephone, email, live chat and face to face
2. Build strong, lasting relationships with customers and deliver excellent service at all times
3. Proactively manage high volumes of calls, emails and orders with accuracy and efficiency
4. Accurately create, record and schedule orders/services using bespoke IT systems
5. Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring a positive outcome
6. Support the daily coordination and planning of drivers across skips, hook and trade waste services
7. Promote the company’s services and support business growth
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety, tachograph and driver hours regulations
9. Assist with driver performance, engagement and development
10. Support driver administration including holidays, sickness and wage queries
11. Work collaboratively with internal departments including accounts and wider operations
12. Contribute to a positive team environment and promote company values
Knowledge and Skills Required:
13. Excellent communication skills with a confident and professional manner
14. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
15. Good IT skills, including Microsoft systems and accurate data input
16. Ability to build rapport and maintain strong working relationships
17. A proactive and self-motivated approach

19. Ability to handle challenging situations and problem solve effectively
