About the Role
A leading UK manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support and enhance controls, automation, and electrical systems across a high-performance manufacturing site.
This role is ideal for a technically strong Controls Engineer who enjoys hands-on involvement with automation systems, fault-finding, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting automation projects, and improving machine performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with the wider engineering and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of site equipment.
Contract: Permanent
Shift: Monday - Friday (Days)
Key Responsibilities
Provide controls and automation engineering support across the site
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise PLC and control systems
Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities
Improve equipment reliability and machine performance
Carry out fault-finding on electrical and control systems
Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with controls upgrades, modifications, and small automation projects
Ensure compliance with safety, electrical, and engineering standardsKey Requirements
Relevant electrical and/or controls engineering qualification
Proven experience working as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment
Strong PLC fault-finding and diagnostics experience
Experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley control systems preferred (other platforms considered)
Good understanding of automation, electrical systems, and industrial controls
Strong focus on equipment reliability and continuous improvement
