The Opportunity
We’re looking for a UK Payroll Legislation Manager to act as an internal authority on payroll compliance and regulation.
This role sits at the intersection of legislation, product, and operations. You’ll interpret complex HMRC guidance and translate it into clear, actionable requirements for our product and payroll teams. If you enjoy turning regulatory change into real-world solutions, this is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Act as the internal expert on UK payroll legislation
* Monitor HMRC updates, regulatory changes, and case law
* Interpret legislation and translate it into technical and operational requirements
* Work closely with product and engineering teams to implement changes in software
* Advise internal teams on payroll compliance and best practice
* Create clear documentation on new and updated payroll regulations
* Deliver training and guidance to internal teams and customers
* Act as the go‑to authority for payroll legislation queries
What We’re Looking For
* 10+ years’ experience in UK payroll
* Deep knowledge of PAYE, RTI, pensions, tax rules, and HMRC processes
* Proven experience interpreting payroll legislation and regulatory guidance
* Ability to translate legal requirements into product or business actions
* Background in payroll bureaus, payroll software, HMRC, or accountancy firms
* Strong communication and documentation skills
