Overview
We are a small family owned and run group of two day nurseries and we are seeking a dedicated, fun and experienced Nursery Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role offers an opportunity to create a nurturing environment for children while ensuring the smooth running of the nursery. Applicants should have relevant experience in childcare settings, minimum Level 3 qualification and be committed to maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, education and care.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
* Lead and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
* Work closely with parents and support growth in nursery occupancy
* Foster a safe, fun, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children and staff and ensure high levels of safeguarding and compliance
* Maintain effective communication and develop close working relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and wellbeing
* Oversee administrative tasks such as record keeping, grants, and fees
* Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all times
* Organise staff rotas, recruitment, training sessions, and performance reviews
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery quality
Skills
* Proven management and leadership abilities within a childcare or nursery setting
* Extensive experience working with children, ideally in a private day nursery
* Strong understanding of child development principles and childcare regulations
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively whilst maintaining high standards of care
* Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
* Good interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and external partners
* Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting supplies or attending external meetings or training sessions
