Join to apply for the Fitter (HGV Field Service Engineer) role at Lanes Group
We’re looking for a dedicated Fitter (also known as HGV Field Service Engineer) to join our transport team based out of the Kidlington depot (Kidlington, Oxfordshire). The role is permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain our fleet of vehicles ranging from small vans to HGVs.
* Perform hydraulic and high-pressure jetting system maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance and repair hydraulic components.
* Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, providing on-site repairs to minimise downtime.
* Use diagnostic tools to identify and rectify technical issues related to high-pressure equipment.
* Collaborate with the team to analyse recurring problems and implement preventive measures.
* Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, health and safety regulations, environmental standards and industry best practices.
* Ensure all activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
About You
* Class B Driving Licence and fully recognised industry qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Class C+E / HGV Class 2 Drivers Licence essential.
* Experience in commercial HGV vehicle servicing, hydraulics (desirable) and water industry (preferred).
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications would be useful.
* Strong background in troubleshooting, manual fault finding and proactive maintenance.
* Hard working, respectful and compliant with health and safety standards.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: £55,000 per annum (depending on experience).
