Job overview
Position: One full time equivalent Clinical Sessions (10 sessions)
There are 10 clinical sessions available within the Department of Paediatric Dentistry at Bristol Dental Hospital. This position consists of 1 full‑time role. The post‑holders will be expected to provide clinical leadership, offer expert dental advice, and deliver treatment within the scope of Paediatric Dentistry.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Clinical sessions will involve comprehensive dental care of patients requiring Paediatric Dentistry, routine exodontia lists under general anaesthetic for children under 16 years of age, GA pre‑assessment clinics on the outpatient department and treatment clinics on the outpatient department. The post‑holder will support the Paediatric Dentistry team, community specialists and trainees within the department. This post holder will provide potential clinical cover for the routine extraction GA lists at BDH as and when needed, due to leave of existing staff.

Knowledge
* Ability to understand and communicate verbally in the English language
* General experience of exodontia lists in theatre and in managing patients and dental emergencies
* Effective participation in clinical audit
* Evidence of general clinical skills in Paediatric Dentistry and potential to develop
* IT and presentation skills
* Experience of undergraduate teaching and training at appropriate level
* Child Protection training level 2

Qualifications
* Bachelor of Dental Surgery (or equivalent)
* Full UK GDC registration
