Job description

The opportunity

We are seeking a proactive Regulatory Policy and Compliance Officer to provide high-quality administrative and operational support to our dedicated compliance team at University of the Arts London (UAL).

As a key member of the Regulatory Policy and Compliance team, you will provide instrumental support that will help ensure the University's compliance with UK information legislation, supporting good governance and ethical decision-making across our academic and professional services.

Working closely with colleagues in your team and from across the University, you will:

* Maintain and update internal platforms including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and internal web pages (Canvas) to ensure policies, procedures, and forms are optimised to support staff accessibility and compliance
* Manage teamwork trackers
* Lead the administration of new projects
* Support team members' participation in meetings by organising agendas, creating presentation materials, taking notes, and contributing to delivery when needed
* Oversee the DPO mailbox, triaging and responding to enquiries, and maintaining and sharing the enquiry log with relevant team members
* Support the Local Information Manager (LIM) network, including drafting and sending communications, organising meetings, and handling enquiries

This is an exciting opportunity to further your career in a pivotal and dynamic role, supporting the University's commitment to regulatory compliance, good governance, and high-quality service delivery.

About you

Educated to degree level (or equivalent), you will have excellent digital and IT skills, and will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Teams, SharePoint and Forms, as well as social media.

You will be an exceptional communicator, highly organised, and confident in building effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A strong customer-focused approach to service delivery will also be essential to success in this role. Knowledge of UK information legislation (including the Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000) is desirable, but not essential.

Application process

We operate a fair and open anonymous selection process. Thus, you will need to create an account and submit an application through our job board. As part of this, you will need to provide a supporting statement to demonstrate your suitability. Our recruitment process involves: application, shortlisting, assessment/interview, offer, onboarding.

We understand the benefits of using AI in work. But, if you are thinking of using it to submit an application, we ask you to think about what value it adds. AI tools tend to lack the personal touch and authenticity we value in candidates. We encourage you to showcase your unique knowledge and skills using your own voice.

If we receive a high volume of applications, the closing day date might close early. We aim to communicate any changes to the closing date with at least 24 hours' notice.

If you have any general questions or have accessibility needs, please contact USGstaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk

To recognise the hard work of our staff and their contributions, we provide a wide range of benefits - please check our careers site/Canvas for further information as conditions and exclusions apply:

• 31 days of annual leave and 2 days off to volunteer plus bank holidays
• Flexible and Dynamic working options available from the first day
