Industrial Refrigeration Engineer (Mobile)
Location: Mobile Role (Southampton)
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Plus: Overtime, call-out payments, company van (personal use - tax applicable)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a mobile role, carrying out service, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of industrial refrigeration systems, primarily working with ammonia (NH₃) and CO₂ systems across customer sites.
This role is ideal for a self‑motivated engineer who enjoys field‑based work, problem‑solving, and working on technically challenging industrial plant.
Engineers with strong industrial refrigeration experience who do not yet hold ammonia certification are encouraged to apply — the company is happy to support and fund ammonia training for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintain, fault‑find, and repair industrial refrigeration systems
* Work on ammonia and CO₂ refrigeration plant
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
* Complete service reports and documentation accurately
* Participate in the call‑out rota (1 in 6)
* Provide a professional and customer‑focused service on‑site
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday
* Typically 08:00 - 16:30
* Some flexibility required depending on site and workload
Required Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
* Proven experience in industrial refrigeration
* Strong working knowledge of ammonia and CO₂ systems
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently in a mobile role
