Summary:
Under the supervision of branch management, perform teller duties, identify member needs, and recommend appropriate credit union products and services. Provide high-quality member service courteously. Lead cash management processes, including vault settlement, cash order recommendations, and closing all transactions at the end of the day. Perform supervisory duties such as training new employees, coaching staff on balancing or sales deficiencies, and training ATM and cash recycler settlement and stocking. Perform account corrections as needed. Supervise teller line staff and coordinate daily workflow, ensuring the teller line is prepared each morning. Observe all safety and security policies. Assist branch management in developing a strong member focus through coaching conversations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Daily Teller Duties:
o Process member transactions accurately and efficiently, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, bond redemptions, loan payments, cash advances, transfers, and issuing monetary instruments, following credit union policies and regulations.
o Greet members professionally and process transactions within established procedures and authority limits.
o Enter transactions into credit union software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with performance standards.
o Maintain branch logs and balance daily activities, verifying transactions and resolving discrepancies.
o Perform teller and branch settlement activities, including night deposit processing, reconciliation, and participation in end-of-day procedures.
o Assist with onboarding and training new staff, and perform teller capture procedures.
o Support branch security and fraud prevention efforts.
2. Supervisory Duties:
o Lead cash management activities, including vault settlement and cash order recommendations.
o Supervise and delegate teller duties, monitor performance, and conduct audits.
o Lead and support operations meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
o Assist in testing new systems and resolving teller-related issues.
o Onboard and mentor new tellers, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
3. Cross-Sell/Member Service:
o Maintain knowledge of all credit union products and services.
o Respond to member inquiries, identify needs, and recommend suitable products.
o Conduct product knowledge meetings and maintain referral score standards.
o Process member address changes and other service requests.
4. Other:
o Perform related duties as required, including flexible scheduling and travel to branch locations.
o Complete required training and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum three years of teller experience at a financial institution.
* Supervisory and sales experience preferred.
* Physical ability to lift coins or money bags, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
* Knowledge of financial procedures, basic mathematics, and computer applications.
* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Professional demeanor and team-oriented attitude required.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly rate: $20.83 - $26.04, based on experience and education.
