Long Term Futures are supporting a warm, welcoming primary school in Northfield who are seeking a caring and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support within a Year 3 class. This long-term position involves working closely with a child who has physical disabilities and uses a wheelchair, alongside a second child with complex Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will work collaboratively with the class teacher and SEND team to ensure both children receive consistent, high-quality support throughout the school day. The Role You will provide tailored, structured support to two children in Year 3 with differing needs. Child 1: Physical disabilities, wheelchair user - requires mobility support, hoist use, personal care and help accessing the curriculum. Child 2: Complex ASD - requires calm, consistent support with communication, emotional regulation, social interaction and learning tasks.Your Role will include: Delivering 1:1 and 2:1 support during lessons, interventions and transitions Providing personal care, hoisting support, toileting and mobility routines Supporting sensory regulation strategies and enabling access to learning Encouraging independence while providing reassurance and structure Working collaboratively with the SENDCo, class teacher and external professionalsThe Ideal Candidate Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or Early Years/Primary setting Confident supporting children with physical disabilities, ASD, sensory needs or communication difficulties Hoist Trained Comfortable providing personal care Able to build strong, trusting relationships with both children and staff Understanding of SEND strategies, communication tools and regulation approaches Holds TA qualifications or a relevant degree Calm, patient and able to work well within a supportive teamThe School Friendly and inclusive primary school environment Ofsted rated "Good" Supportive Senior Leadership Team and SENDCo Excellent facilities and a well-equipped Pathways Provision Strong focus on meeting individual needs through tailored interventionsIf this sounds like the right next step for you, please upload your CV and Alex will be in touch to discuss the role further
