About the role.
Availability Window – see weekly times below. The schedule is used to plan contracted hours, with 3 weeks' notice of shifts. We are flexible with times where possible to accommodate candidates.
Weekly availability (illustrative):
Sun 09:00–18:00; Mon 16:45–21:00; Tue 09:00–14:15; Wed 16:45–21:00; Thu 09:00–13:15.
Pay – Our Tesco Colleague rate starts from £12.45 per hour, increasing to £13.66 in stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
Hours – It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. If you prefer fewer hours, a minimum of 12 hours is also available and we would still love to hear from you.
How this role works – The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work (the availability windows). Your contracted hours will be scheduled within these times, and you will receive 3 weeks’ notice of exact shifts. We support flexibility; if your available times are close but not exact, we’d still like to hear from you.

Responsibilities
* Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride; provide great natural service.
* Be knowledgeable about products and services in the store.
* Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas as required.
* Apply training to work safely, effectively and deliver excellent customer service.
* Make decisions that are right for customers and deliver store routines accordingly.
* Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Understand store performance and the part you play in driving service, sales, reducing waste and shrinkage, and delivering profit.
* Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in good condition.
* Represent the brand by living our values and following company policies.
* Occasionally, you may be required to accept deliveries into the store.

* A passion for delivering great service and greeting customers with a smile.
* Ability to build rapport with customers and ensure a positive shopping experience.
* Take initiative and make decisions in customers’ interests.
* Work well within a team and communicate openly with others.
* Build relationships with colleagues to foster a positive team spirit.
* Be punctual, well presented and a brand ambassador.
