Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £70,000–£75,000 + package
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to lead and drive the HSE agenda across their construction projects and offices. This senior role reports directly to the Construction Director and is pivotal in promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on HSE legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Environmental Protection Act 1974.
* Keep senior management informed of new regulations and developments.
* Develop, maintain, and monitor HSE systems, policies, and procedures.
* Conduct site, office, and sales centre inspections, audits, and accident/incident investigations.
* Provide HSE reports to the Board and chair quarterly HSE review meetings.
* Identify training needs and deliver briefings and refresher sessions for staff and managers.
* Liaise with enforcement authorities and contribute to pre-start site planning.
* Promote sustainability and environmental initiatives.
* Lead by example in safety practices and recommend immediate corrective actions when required.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and construction safety standards.
* Experience in auditing, inspections, and incident investigations.
* Ability to advise and influence senior management.
* Commitment to sustainability and environmental best practices.
