What you’ll do:
As a Data Privacy Specialist in this forward‑thinking organisation based in London, you will be instrumental in driving the design, delivery, and monitoring of international privacy programmes. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross‑functional teams to embed robust privacy practices into every aspect of product development and service delivery. You will provide expert advice on compliance matters related to GDPR and other global regulations while actively participating in risk assessments for new technologies such as AI/ML. By delivering targeted training sessions and awareness campaigns, you will help cultivate a culture of responsible data use throughout the business. Your ability to manage incident responses efficiently – coordinating investigations and post‑incident reviews – will be crucial for maintaining trust. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting audits, tracking remediation progress, reporting on key metrics, and ensuring that all documentation meets regulatory requirements. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement combined with meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of privacy management.
* Support the implementation of comprehensive privacy and AI governance frameworks across products, services, and operational processes within the organisation.
* Monitor ongoing compliance with GDPR as well as other applicable global laws such as the EU AI Act and India Digital Data Protection Act, ensuring all activities meet regulatory standards.
* Lead or contribute to Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs), and maintain accurate records of processing activities (RoPAs).
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage third‑party data sharing agreements, oversee international data transfers, and assist with contract reviews including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
* Work alongside product managers and privacy engineers to ensure that privacy by design principles are embedded into all products from inception through delivery.
* Partner with technical teams to assess privacy risks associated with AI/ML projects, providing guidance on risk mitigation strategies.
* Deliver engaging privacy training sessions and awareness campaigns tailored for both technical and non‑technical audiences to foster a culture of compliance.
* Assist in managing data breach incidents by coordinating investigations, mitigation efforts, notifications to relevant parties, and conducting thorough post‑incident reviews.
* Identify potential privacy risks within the organisation’s operations, escalade concerns to the Data Protection Officer (DPO), and ensure effective documentation of actions taken.
* Support regular privacy audits and maturity assessments while tracking remediation efforts, trends in risk management, controls effectiveness, and preparing internal/external reports such as metrics for board updates.
What you bring:

You excel at building relationships across departments by fostering trust through clear communication and collaborative problem‑solving. Experience with tools like OneTrust allows you to streamline programme management while your familiarity with AI governance frameworks positions you at the forefront of emerging industry trends. Professional certifications further highlight your commitment to excellence but are not mandatory if you can demonstrate practical expertise. Whether your background includes engineering or cyber security disciplines – or simply a passion for responsible data use – you are ready to contribute positively within agile environments using modern project management approaches.
* Demonstrated experience spanning 3‑7 years in privacy or data protection roles within technology or SaaS environments where you have contributed meaningfully to compliance initiatives.
* Comprehensive working knowledge of GDPR requirements applied within data‑driven organisations operating internationally.
* Proven track record supporting DPIAs (Data Protection Impact Assessments), vendor risk reviews, and facilitating compliance for international data transfers.
* Technical fluency or the ability to work effectively alongside engineers and cloud teams; exposure to platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure is highly valued.
* Exceptional organisational skills paired with an empathetic approach to stakeholder engagement; your influencing abilities help drive consensus across diverse teams.
* Experience using OneTrust or similar tools for managing privacy programmes efficiently within complex environments.
* Professional certifications such as CIPP/E or CIPM are desirable but not essential; candidates who demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning are encouraged.
* Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, data ethics considerations or ISO/BS standards like ISO 27701 or ISO 42001 would be advantageous for this position.
