Job Overview
They are seeking a Head of Business Development for the UK to expand services, grow the customer portfolio, and establish key partnerships in the UK. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide consultative services, prospect new clients, and develop existing accounts. The role combines business development, consultancy, and project management.
Accountability / Key Responsibilities
1. Shape the development strategy in the UK.
2. Evaluate tender portals and framework opportunities.
3. Conduct market analysis on competitors, customer sectors, and pricing.
4. Support in creating tailored offers for clients.
5. Assist in developing marketing and communication materials for the UK market.
6. Establish and maintain local and long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
7. Maintain effective communication with the UK Sales team.
8. Generate and nurture leads.
9. Prepare proposals, participate in pre-sales and sales meetings, and manage business deals.
10. Coordinate internal and external project contributors to meet planned deliverables.
11. Ensure excellent operational customer relationships and satisfaction.
12. Meet deadlines and ensure quality of deliverables.
13. Gather and utilize customer feedback.
14. Conduct workshops to identify and understand client needs.
15. Support strategic, economic, and technical analyses related to urban planning, energy, mobility, and environmental innovations.
16. Develop strategic vision for urban development and new business models.
Personal Specification
1. Over 7 years of experience in business development and consulting, ideally in strategy or management consulting.
2. Successful prior experience in consultancy, urban planning agencies, or with local authorities or private real estate developers.
3. Experience managing teams and projects.
4. Ability to communicate a compelling vision and persuade effectively.
5. A Master’s degree, preferably in smart cities, urban development, or architecture (desirable).
6. Deep knowledge of urban planning, urban environment, or technical topics like energy or e-mobility.
7. Strong understanding of the energy sector and UK energy systems.
