Hybrid working onsite at Petalite
Petalite is a next generation EV charging company with a clear mission: to revolutionise electric charging technology. Through an extensive period in R&D, we gave ourselves the freedom to think differently and the time to reimagine a better way.
Our Technology
We are driven to push the boundaries of technology and move the world forward towards a net-zero future. Our patented rapid/ultra rapid EV charging technology (SDC) radically simplifies the AC-DC conversion process at the heart of DC fast chargers. It allows us to engineer a fast-charging solution with superior reliability, scalability, modularity, availability and efficiency. It is testament to our different way of thinking.
The PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for PCB design activities on the Petalite product, this is a hands-on role, and you will be expected to develop your own PCB designs.
Key Responsibilities
* To personally undertake PCB design activities as appropriate in order to support the product development needs.
* Working with our in-house technicians to plan and oversee the assembly of PCBA prototype parts, ensuring delivery to agreed time, cost and quality targets.
* To work closely with mechanical design technical specialist to define and agree the mechanical integration of the printed circuit board assembly into the final product.
Requirements
* Strong expertise in printed circuit board design and manufacture. Must have at least five years’ experience of PCB design in Altium 365.
* Considerable strength and depth of knowledge and experience in PCB design across a range of different products and technologies, including high speed processor boards with mixed signal content, and high voltage, high power switching circuits such as DC/DC converters, motor drives or inverters.
* Excellent working knowledge in the principles of design for EMC and application to the design of microprocessor and power switching circuit board designs, having developed a number of designs through to successful EMC certification.
* In depth understanding of the processes involved in the manufacture and test of the PCB blank, and PCB assembly. Will have in depth understanding of DFM (Design For Manufacture), DFT (Design For Test) and DFC (Design for Cost), and will have successfully developed and launched multiple PCBAs into volume manufacture.
* Knowledgeable and experienced in the processes used to assemble prototype PCB assemblies.
* Preferably having knowledge and experience in development of high-power charging systems and/or traction systems in the Electric Vehicle (EV) arena.
