An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our Catering Department as a Catering Assistant/Mealtime Support at The Manor House, St Hilary.
The Manor House provides the highest standards of care and hospitality for elderly residents. This role is not purely kitchen-based — it is a hands-on position supporting residents directly at mealtimes, ensuring their nutritional and hydration needs are safely met.

· Part Time – 3 days out of 7
· Shift Pattern:
o 7am – 3pm (Every Other Weekend)
o 12pm – 7pm (Weekdays)
Key Responsibilities
Catering & Food Service (weekends)
· Preparation of breakfast items, drinks, snacks, and specialised diets in a safe and compliant manner.
· Assisting with the service of lunch, drinks, and snacks under the direction of the Chef in a friendly and professional manner.
· Ensuring excellent hospitality standards for residents and guests at all times.
· Maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the main kitchen, satellite kitchens, and food service areas in line with cleaning schedules.
· Cleaning crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers, and equipment manually and using industrial dishwashers.
· Assisting the kitchen team with events and ensuring effective communication between the kitchen and residents.
Resident Mealtime & Hydration Support(weekdays)
· Actively supporting residents who require assistance with eating, including feeding residents in a patient, dignified, and respectful manner.
· Proactively offering, encouraging, and assisting residents with fluids throughout mealtimes and during service periods to promote hydration.
· Carefully monitoring food and fluid intake and accurately documenting this on residents' intake charts in line with care plans and company policy.
· Reporting any concerns regarding poor appetite, low fluid intake, swallowing difficulties, or changes in eating behaviour to the Clinical Team immediately.
· Working closely with the Clinical Team to ensure residents receive the additional nutritional or hydration support they require.
This role carries direct responsibility for ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration, alongside accurate and timely documentation.
Training & Compliance
· Undertaking all mandatory and legislative training relevant to the role.
· Keeping e-learning and company policy knowledge up to date.
· Following The Manor House dress code at all times (uniform provided).
Experience
· Catering and/or care experience preferred.
· Full induction and in-house training provided
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.50 per hour
