Solihull Special Care Dental Service provides Special Care Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, across the borough of Solihull.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Dental Therapist to join our specialist team on a fixed term maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high quality special care dental treatment to adults and children with a range of additional needs.
The post is a 9 month fixed term contract, part time (22.5 hours). Required days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with some flexibility.
Responsibilities
Provide high quality dental care to adults and children with additional needs, both in clinic locations and on mobile dental units in schools.
Work collaboratively as part of a team in a variety of settings.
Support oral health initiatives and promote healthy lifestyles.
Qualifications
* Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
* Registered on the NHS Dental Performers List
* Experience working as a Dental Therapist
* Experience treating patients with additional care needs, including learning disabilities, medically compromised and people with autism
* Experience working independently and within primary care/Community Services
* Holder of full driving licence and able to use a car

* Self‑motivated, caring, and adaptable
* Strong communication skills with clinical team, peers and other health, social care or education colleagues
* Effective written communication and IT proficiency
