The Head of Capital role involves leading the Lloyd’s establishment of the capital modelling team, ensuring governance and regulatory compliance, and supporting continual improvement and best practices. Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the syndicate capital team’s in-housing and build-out of capabilities.
2. Support non-syndicate EII capital requirements.
3. Lead capital discussions with relevant committees and boards.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders on capital review processes and initiatives.
5. Deliver internal and external reports timely and clearly.
6. Innovate and improve analysis and outputs to maintain industry-leading standards.
7. Contribute to ORSA, stress testing, and scenario analyses.
8. Coordinate and support annual validation processes.
9. Embed the internal capital model into business decision-making.
10. Assist in producing the actuarial function report.
11. Develop controls over model inputs and outputs.
12. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
13. Identify and lead future enhancements to capital modelling tools and approaches.
14. Collaborate across functions to optimize processes and capacity.
15. Model and coordinate parameter updates.
16. Enhance monitoring, MI, and communication of model limitations and proposals.
17. Engage with key stakeholders including risk, finance, Lloyd’s, and senior management.
18. Contribute to the evolution of the wider actuarial team’s tools and insights.
Professional Experience:
1. Qualified Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or similar.
2. Extensive Lloyd’s internal capital model and governance experience.
3. Proven management of capital teams and stakeholder engagement.
4. Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields such as Maths, Economics, or Statistics.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Strong IT skills: MS Excel, Access, SQL, Power BI, ResQ.
2. Knowledge of Lloyd’s best practices and standard formula modelling.
3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Effective communication skills for reports and presentations.
5. Ability to prioritize strategic initiatives.
6. Flexible, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and network.
