Your responsibilities:
1. NPD process – Ensures the NPD procedure is followed at all times ensuring critical paths are devised and met. Manages NPD Tracker. Industrialisation of new products and processes.
Quality Attribute Standards – Creates QAS for new products and ensures production staff are familiar with the standards and confident to use them. Maintain gluten, milk- and egg- free status of products made on site.
Benchmarking – Benchmarking at own label retailers– Is confident to present new/improved products to customers and benchmark them against competitor products.
Research – Has and understanding of raw materials and production processes. Can research new methods and source new raw materials.
Recipe Development – Has an understanding of recipes and can create products that are in line with our company objectives. Can review current products or processes and suggest improvements to make savings.
Factory Process – Knows how to take a product to the factory and is capable of showing production how the product should be made, is aware of launch deadlines and challenges back to ensure trials are adhered too.
Technical Understanding – Has an understanding of product specifications and can confidently use customer technical software to complete required guidelines. Maintains customer database and files, ensuring all customer information and files are kept up to date and easy to navigate. Update product information and pictures where appropriate.

Innovation – Puts forward new ideas or new ways of working within the NPD department that will help deliver the overall NPD strategy. Look at ways we can improve our current product offering through product or site capabilities.
Building Relationships – Proactively builds sustainable relationships with internal and external contacts. Networks effectively with existing and new customers as well as suppliers to achieve company objectives.
Team Player – Works and communicates effectively with all internal departments to ensure everyone works cohesively to achieve company objectives. Contributes on behalf of the NPD department and ensures all information is available for every department.
Your profile:
2. Food Science Degree or equivalent
3. Previous experience in an NPD role (3+ years)
4. Experience of dealing with retailers
5. Predisposition to work on an international environment, flexibility and availability to travel with overnight stays (UK and abroad)
6. English speaking; knowledge of German or Italian is considered a plus
