We are seeking an office manager to join the well established team of this primary education setting based on the outskirts of Preston and support the headteacher andernors in ensuring the smooth and successful running of our school. You will be responsible for the strategic planning and support in most areas including some finance, operations, facilities, administration, health and safety and site management.
You will have a relevant qualification in business management or equivalent experience in a similar role. You will also have excellentmunication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to be friendly and approachable and work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including staff, parents, pupils,ernors, and external agencies.
This is a part-time position, 28 hours a week and term time only (39 weeks). Both interim and permanent applicants can be considered for this position, as the long term goal is to recruit for this role on a permanent basis.
1. Monitor the whole school budget.
2. Be responsible for the management of administration, data, estate management, health and safety, catering, operations support, human resources and ICT.
3. Manage a small team of office staff and support the development of said staff.
4. Coordinate staff cover arrangements, ensuring the best value.
5. Ensurepliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
6. Support procurement, contracts, and asset management.
7. Plan and manage the recruitment processes within the school.
8. Maintain the single central record inline with the HR policies.
9. Ensure the ICT systems which include Arbor and FMS function effectively to enhance and support the teaching and learning of the school.
10. Promote the school’s profile and reputation in themunity, supporting the Headteacher with ie generation from marketing the school, including lettings.
What you'll need to succeed
11. You should already have experience of working in a school environment.
12. Experience of contributing at a strategic level within the senior management/leadership team of an organisation.
13. Knowledge and experience of managing risk assessments and health and safety legislation.
14. Experience of managing budgets and resources.
15. Ability to lead and manage change.
16. Flexibility and willingness to be adaptable.
