An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Haematologist with an interest in lymphoma and general haematology to join the team at Withybush General Hospital. Overview
The role will introduce a lymphoma subspecialty to our team as part of a redesign of haematology services across the Health Board and will continue to develop as part of the wider transformation process. Support for the post includes Associate Specialists, Specialty Doctors, Clinical Fellows as well as foundation trainees. The team also includes the Haematology CNS team and Specialist pharmacists.
Responsibilities
* Clinical – Demonstrate experience in the management of lymphoma and general haematology. The successful candidate will develop this subspecialty across the health board and work alongside the generalist consultants.
* Inpatients – Participate in an attending and on‑call rota for the Haverfordwest site. At the three peripheral sites, the contribution is consultative to the local medical team.
* Outpatients – Participate in 3‑4 clinics per week, within lymphoma and general haematology. Consideration for other subspecialist workload may be given, depending on applicant’s experience.
* Attend the weekly health board wide MDT and join other MDTs from all Wales MDTs.
* Deliver 10 sessions with 1x SPA per week. Clinics in other hospital sites will be required (virtual clinics are an option).
* Help develop the rural service to ensure excellent patient care.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
* Ability to contribute to all aspects of general haematology and haemo‑oncology work, including participation in departmental meetings and on‑call rota.

* Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
* Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
* 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices)
* Dental practices (including four orthodontic)
* 97 community pharmacies
* 43 general ophthalmic practices
* 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
* Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
