A nurturing primary school in Gateshead is looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant who can be the steady presence in a busy EYFS classroom, supporting pupils with high levels of need.
This is a full-time role, 8.30am to 3.30pm, perfect for someone who understands that progress sometimes looks like eye contact, a shared smile, or five regulated minutes.
What your days will look like
* Supporting children with complex needs, 1:1 and in small groups
* Creating safe, predictable routines that help children feel secure
* Using consistency and kindness to support behaviour and emotional regulation
* Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to adapt learning
* Noticing and celebrating the small wins, because they matter

* Has experience with SEND, SEMH, or high levels of need
* Stays calm when things feel tricky
* Understands child development in Early Years
* Brings warmth, empathy, and resilience
* Shows up every day as a reliable, reassuring adult

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
