Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heater Specialist Engineerto join our Global Manufacturing Excellence Team within our GlobalManufacturing Support Department (GMSD). GMSD is amultidisciplinary organization with interface to technical and insome cases business support requirements of Domestic Refining &NGL Fractionation Admin Area and This Company Affiliates. Itsfunction caters mainly to the technical needs of GlobalManufacturing operating facilities management and driving theperformances of operating facilities in executing corporateprograms and initiatives towards operational excellence and valuecreation. Your primary role will be to provide technical support tooperating facilities projects technology deployment and talentdevelopment of young Engineers. You will conduct special studiesand analysis in a specialized asset integrity field.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct both simple and complex analysesrelated to the design specification and applications engineeringtasks associated with fired equipment such as boilers andfurnaces.
* Evaluate select specify and engineerfired equipment packages that meet design needs ensuring reliablecosteffective and efficient operation.
* Selectand implement appropriate designs for fired equipment.
* Perform field troubleshooting and technical assessmentsfor fired equipment including boilers and furnaces.
* Actively participate in major Turnarounds and Inspections(T&Is) as well as emergency plant shutdowns.
* Provide technical support to maintenance supportorganizations to ensure the proper functioning of firedequipment.
* Calculate the remaining life ofheater tubes and develop a safe and optimized tube replacementschedule.
* Conduct investigations of firedequipment failures to identify root causes and implement preventivemeasures to avoid such failures in the future.
* Develop repair procedures as required to address issueswith fired equipment.
* Review detailed drawingsand material specifications as requested.
* Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Studiesreviews to ensure safety and compliance.
Requirements:
* This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
* Hold a Bachelors Degreein Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in therefinery and/or petrochemical industry with at least 7 yearsspecializing in Fired Equipment.
* Demonstrate abroad set of skills and knowledge covering various types of firedequipment including fired heaters flares incinerators boilers SCRsand related systems and auxiliaries within the Refining NGL andpetrochemical industries.
* Have indepth codeknowledge of standards such as ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 &2 ASME Section I API530 API535 API537 API560 API579 API936 NFPAstandards and other relevant codes and standards applicable tofired equipment.
* Possess significantexperience in inspection and failure analysis of firedequipment.
* Be knowledgeable about both basicand advanced NonDestructive Evaluation (NDE) techniques relevant tofired equipment.
* Have a deep understanding ofremaining life calculations for heater tubes.
* Understanding of refractory design and repair isdesirable.
