An exciting opportunity for a Theatre Support Worker to join the team working in theatres.

Responsibilities
* Assisting the surgical team to provide a quality service.
* Assisting the surgical team to deliver safe patient care.
* Supporting the surgical team in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile equipment.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy environment throughout theatres.
* Maintaining good stock levels.
* Supporting weekend and on-call duties.
* Works as part of the team to maintain good working relationships.
* Communicates well both verbally and written.
* Is able to work under supervision.
* Provides and receives routine information.
* Provides information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated.
* Reports any concern regarding patient care.
* Maintains confidentiality.
* Records care supervised by the trained nurse.
* Ensures infection control standards are maintained by all members of the MDT.
* Maintains theatres clean and tidy at all times.
* Joins weekend and night rotation after competence training.
* Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse, participates in the delivery of planned programs of care.
* Assists in receiving patients.
* Assists in collecting patients from the ward.
* Assist with checking and preparation of instruments and equipment.
* Unpacks and records arrival of equipment.
* Supplies the surgical team with items as instructed.
* Assists the scrub team in gowning and gloving.
* Counts swabs with a registered nurse.
* Assists in correctly dispatching specimens as instructed.
* Be aware of competence and asks for assistance as required.
* Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good verbal and written command of English.
* Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
* Reasonable level of numeracy equivalent to GCSE.
* Expect to complete a Care Certificate qualification in Perioperative care.
