If so, then this is an exciting time to join Bridgend CBC as we continue to develop the way we meet the needs of children and young people who need our support. We are growing our Children's Residential provision with a commitment and focus on the trauma informed approach and having the model adopted across all of the service.
With the opening of new services, would you like to join us as we look to improve the lives and outcomes of care experienced children in Bridgend.
You will be working work as part of the Children's Residential team providing support to looked after children and young people who require a comprehensive assessment to help inform future placement decisions and prepare them for their future.
The successful applicant will implement and lead in the assessment process within the allocated residential services, so support can be focused to the child's individual needs and the approach from residential staff is consistent and well informed to help manage the emotional and behavioural challenges and carry out some direct work with children and young people.
Some of the keys responsibilities of the post include, though are not limited to:
- Knowledge and understanding of behavioural management techniques and approaches including assessing, designing and implementing behaviour management plans alongside an experienced Behaviour Analyst consultant.
- To provide training, mentoring and regular feedback to on site staff teams in behavioural management techniques and approaches.
- To undertake individual therapeutic assessments, create and implement behaviour support and skills plans and delivery therapy directly.
- To develop the skills of a staff team in Behaviour Analysis and Trauma Informed approaches.
The applicant working with service and residential managers promote and embed the trauma informed model in the service and maximising our ability to have a positive impact on the lives of care experienced children in Bridgend.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced Children Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
Night Duties, Sleeping In, Weekend Working are a requirement of this post.
