Description
Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is offering an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Transmission Design Engineer (Composite) to join our Transmission team at our state-of-the-art Silverstone campus.
As a Transmission Design Engineer (Composite), you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge mechanical and composite components for our Formula 1 cars. Working within a dynamic team of design engineers taking components from concept through to testing and development, your work will directly contribute to the performance and reliability of our transmission systems on track!
Key Responsibilities
* Creating design schemes from concept stage for mechanical and composite components.
* Producing detailed drawings to facilitate component manufacturing.
* Providing follow-up support during assembly, testing, and development.
* Developing practical solutions to resolve issues arising from testing and development.
* Contributing proactively to the development, implementation, and improvement of design concepts.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of mechanical design and Formula 1 regulations.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Proven experience in mechanical and composite design for transmission systems within Formula 1 or a high-level motorsport environment.
* Expertise in producing high-level design schemes and detailed drawings for complex assemblies under demanding schedules.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, ideally with strong working knowledge of Catia 3D experience.
* Experience in CFRP composite component design and manufacture, such as suspension components.
* A Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent in a mechanical engineering-related discipline.
* Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to perform under pressure, meeting strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
* A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable attitude with a commitment to teamwork.
* A clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety regulations
