The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an ambitious, highly skilled and passionate higher level teaching assistant with a strong commitment to inclusive education to join our teaching team as the HLTA for our newly established Specialist Resource Base opening in September 2026.
This specialist provision will offer a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with complex needs, ensuring every child and their family feels valued and supported. The SRB will provide tailored education for pupils who require a highly differentiated curriculum and specialist strategies to thrive.
Adamsdown Primary School, situated in the centre of Cardiff, is an inner city school which serves a diverse and challenging community. Our school is proud of its relational approaches, which underpin everything we do. Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues will be central to your role. Following our successful Estyn report in 2023, which praised our inclusive ethos and high standards, we are committed to ensuring this new provision reflects the same excellence.

The role will include:
•Supporting high-quality teaching for pupils with complex additional learning needs.
•Using specialist strategies to support communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation.
•Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families.
•Championing inclusion and wellbeing across the school.
We will be looking for:
•Expertise in specialist teaching approaches (e.g. Makaton, Total communication approaches etc )
•Strong understanding of child development and additional learning needs.
•Excellent communication and relational skills
