The Plant Manager position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, and other related activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee plant operations including personnel, logistics, production, maintenance, and other commercial activities.
* Serve as a member of the HACCP and Food Safety Team.
* Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are achieved efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Develop and control profits, plans, and budgets; build and present cases to secure CAPEX expenditures; measure KPIs, financial justification, and participate in contract negotiations.
* Implement cost-effective systems for controlling capital, operating expenses, manpower, wages, and salaries.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team participation.
* Establish and monitor plant performance standards for production and quality.
* Control labor overtime and repair expenses; hold departments accountable.
* Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; oversee replacements or adjustments when necessary.
* Provide leadership, development, and direction to managers to achieve company goals.
* Communicate with senior management to align future objectives.
* Develop initiatives for continuous manufacturing process improvements and oversee their implementation.
* Work with management to ensure teamwork, efficiency, and effectiveness.
* Review and approve plans related to output, budget, material efficiency, and engineering effectiveness.
* Supervise employees and foster strong interdepartmental relationships.
* Liaise with customers regarding daily requirements.
* Ensure health and safety standards are maintained in the workplace.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or five years of plant/general management experience in extrusion, film, converting, injection molding, or blow molding manufacturing environments; with strong leadership skills.
* Understanding of manufacturing operations and maintenance engineering.
* Industry-specific experience.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, quality systems, and standards.
* Highly motivated and results-oriented.
* Good knowledge of relevant legislation, including health and safety regulations.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
