Play a pivotal role in supporting the Regional Controller model BMS has built.
Be responsible for overseeing financial operations and providing strategic financial guidance for a country or a group of countries.
Actively participate in various activities including:
* Managing financial activities within a designated market or a cluster of countries
* Overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance with relevant regulations and corporate policies
* Maintaining accurate financial records, analysing financial performance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting decision-making processes
* Lead the development and execution of the strategy, governance, end-to-end processes, by ensuring compliance with all local laws and regulations
Key Responsibilities
* Lead financial operations within the designated country/group of countries, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, adherence to accounting principles, and compliance with regulatory standards
* Manage the monthly close process
* Establish a continuous improvement program to improve effectiveness and efficiency
* Collaborate with other finance functions, such as Tax, Treasury, and Corporate Finance, as well as global enabling functions to ensure alignment and consistency in financial processes
* Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to maintain accurate financial records
* Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting, as well escalate market issues requiring updates to the existing controls
* Coordinate and support internal/external audits
* Provide input and final sign-off for Statutory Financials, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards
* Support above market teams, including Tax, Payroll, General Accounting, Accounts Payable, ensuring compliance with local and corporate requirements,
Key Stakeholders
* Senior leaders from various key Finance organizations – Corporate, Controller, Commercialization Finance, GPS
* Corporate and in-market Finance, FDs and local team members
* Steering Committees and Advisory Boards
Key Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred and / or CA/CPA equivalent preferred.
* 10 plus years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in financial management leadership roles
* Finance experience within the pharmaceutical industry preferred
* Experience in financial management roles required
* Leadership skills to define and drive strategic business vision
* Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance
* Fluency in written and spoken English; another language relevant to the supported country(s) would be an advantage
* Effective relationship management skills
* Adaptability and ability to manage change
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
* Ability to drive collaboration with senior leaders
* Familiarity with SAP and Oracle (Hyperion)
