Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage a comprehensive Medicines Optimisation strategy.
* Oversee the pharmacy workforce and budgets.
* Ensure quality assurance, risk management, and compliance with CQC requirements.
* Manage safe and effective electronic pharmacy systems.
* Act as the Controlled Drug Accountable Officer, ensuring compliance with legislation and governance.
* Manage financial and workforce resources, ensuring expenditure is within budgetary boundaries.

Person Specification
Qualifications:
* Essential: Masters Degree in Pharmacy, General Pharmaceutical Council registration, member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society, postgraduate clinical qualification relevant to hospital pharmacy practice.
* Desirable: RPS faculty membership, MBA or MSc in management, research methodologies training, QI training, specialist pharmacy area training.
Skills and Abilities:
* High-level communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
* Leadership and management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions.
* Teaching and training skills.
Experience and Knowledge:
* Extensive pharmacy and NHS management experience.
* Experience working with senior Trust staff at a corporate level.
* Knowledge of pharmacy and prescribing issues in mental health.
