Job Title - Design CAD Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Design CAD Technician to join our Projects Department in Harlow. You will use AutoCAD (and Revit where required) to create high-quality 2D technical drawings, plans, and schematics for a range of life safety and security systems, including:
* Fire Detection & Alarm (FD&A)
* Door Entry & Access Control
* Warden Call
* Disabled Refuge (EVCS)
* Evacuation Alert (EAS)
* Public Address & Voice Alarm (PAVA)
You will work closely with engineers, consultants, and internal teams to transform project specifications into build-ready designs. The role also involves supporting installations, producing as-fitted drawings, and assisting with the preparation of O&M manuals.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD (Revit experience beneficial).
* Interpret project specifications and consult with the Head of Projects for design approval.
* Modify existing drawings, ensuring revision control with the Document Controller.
* Liaise with engineers, consultants, and operations teams to capture requirements.
* Conduct site visits and surveys, preparing accurate as-fitted drawings.
* Maintain up-to-date project drawing records and documentation.
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience using AutoCAD (essential)
* Basic Revit knowledge (advantageous).
* Background in construction or engineering with an understanding of electrical and fire safety design.
