Electrician – Lincolnshire
Join a well-respected construction and facilities services provider currently engaged on a long-term framework with His Majesty's Prison & Probation Service. They are seeking to expand their team with an Electrician to work on a Ministry of Justice scheme in Lincolnshire.
The company operates on 60 secure premises across England and Wales, focusing on maintaining safe, clean, and efficient facilities. As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include:
1. Planned and preventative electrical maintenance
2. Diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electrical components
3. Responding to breakdowns in a safe and timely manner
4. Fault finding and problem solving on domestic electrical systems within prisons
5. Electrical installation activities following design and IET Wiring Regulations
6. Testing and inspecting electrical installations as per current regulations
7. Monitoring and ordering critical electrical spares
8. Supporting local and business zero carbon initiatives
9. Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
This role involves testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations. Prison Security Clearance is required (assistance provided).
The working pattern is 39 hours per week on a 7-day shift rota, with a 15% uplift to salary. Weekend work is on a rota basis with an additional 15% allowance.
We are looking for candidates with:
* Appropriate technical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ Level 3+)
* BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition preferred)
* Experience in electrical maintenance, distribution, installation, and testing
* Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations
* Ability to work at heights and independently
If you hold the 17th Edition, we can sponsor your upgrade to the 18th Edition (terms apply). Experience in fire alarm and CCTV systems is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
