Offer description

We are looking for an experienced and confident High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support children and young people aged 4–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working 8.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be joining a highly regarded specialist education setting set in a calm and supportive environment. The school is recognised for:

* A therapeutic, child-centred approach to learning

* Strong focus on emotional wellbeing and behaviour support

* Small class sizes with excellent staff-to-pupil ratios

* A collaborative team that values consistency, care and positive relationships




Pupils present with a range of SEMH needs, including: Emotional regulation and anxiety difficulties, Behavioural challenges linked to trauma or adverse experiences, Low self-esteem and disengagement from learning and Additional needs such as ADHD or communication difficulties





Key Responsibilities

* Deliver targeted interventions and learning support

* Support classroom management and lead small groups

* Assist pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies

* Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff





Requirements

* Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN needs

* Experience with SEMH or behavioural needs is highly desirable

* A calm, resilient and proactive approach

* Strong communication and leadership skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
