JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Shift Technician to ensure our plant and production equipment operates at peak performance within this highly regulated and technical environment.
As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will support Production by ensuring plant equipment is operating efficiently, reliably, and safely. Youll be the first point of contact for any technical issues, maintaining excellent communication across Production and escalating significant concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
You will consistently demonstrate:
1. Strict adherence to Safe Systems of Work
2. Delivery of key KPIs to the required standard
3. Commitment to ongoing personal and technical development
4. Fast and effective time-to-repair with high-quality workmanship
5. A proactive approach to minimising downtime and maximising machine availability
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
6. Provide hands-on engineering support throughout the production environment
7. Attend daily team meetings and issue work to team members
8. Train, mentor, and develop colleagues as required
9. Act as an expert within your discipline signed off across all relevant training matrix areas
10. Lead by example and support new starters through guidance and mentoring
11. Play an active role in Health & Safety, promoting safe working practices
12. Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives across the department
13. Drive quality, reliability, and operational efficiency in all tasks
REQUIREMENTS
14. HNC, Time-Served Apprenticeship, or equivalent within an engineering discipline
15. Strong hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
16. Previous exposure to aerospace manufacturing or aerospace engineering (highly advantageous)
17. Skilled in fault-finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis
18. Confident at supporting and developing others within the team
19. A natural leader who maintains high standards and fosters teamwork
You will quickly and effectively diagnose issues using both practical experience and theoretical knowledge. This includes:
20. Identifying actual and potential problems swiftly
21. Communicating clearly and positively with the wider team
22. Offering and encouraging solutions in a collaborative and open environment
23. Maintaining a calm, reassuring approach to ensure the safe and continued running of the business
