Alternative Heat specializes in designing, supplying, and installing a wide range of off-site prefabricated solutions for the commercial M&E sectors across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Due to our continued growth, we are looking to add experienced Welders to our team to support our current fabrication operations. This is a permanent position offering excellent opportunities for candidates eager to gain experience within a progressive and dynamic company. The role is based at our fabrication facility in Scarva.
Job Summary
We seek self-motivated Welders experienced in TIG, MIG, or MMA welding to support our team of skilled fabricators and assembly staff. The successful candidates will be required to work on-site daily within the fabrication/welding facility. The role involves various welding methods, and candidates must be able to produce high-standard welds using TIG, MMA, or MIG. There is potential for further skill development in welding, fabrication, and preparation disciplines, following our in-house procedures.

Monday – Saturday (minimum 40 hours up to 56 hours per week)

Reporting To
Fabrication Manager
Core Responsibilities
1. Extensive experience in pipe fabrication and fit-up, with competent pipe welding skills.
2. Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding, with MMA capability.
3. Ability to produce complex pipe configurations using appropriate tools.
4. Experience in producing X-Ray quality welds.
5. Ability to interpret drawings efficiently.
6. Use of metal cutting and grinding equipment.
7. Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and work areas.
8. Ensure a safe working environment.
9. Perform other duties as required by management.
10. Weld in Horizontal Fixed (5G) or Horizontal Rotated (1G) positions.
11. Possess relevant welding qualifications in carbon steel pipe.
12. Experience with carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe welding.
13. Read and follow welding procedures accurately.
14. Maintain high attention to detail and quality standards.
15. Manage workload to meet project deadlines.
16. Use initiative with minimal supervision.
17. Maintain good relationships with colleagues while ensuring productivity.
18. Undertake training as per company standards.
19. Prioritize quality and safety, meeting productivity targets.
20. Report faults or damages to machinery and tooling.
Desired Criteria
1. Experience in heavy or structural fabrication.
2. Experience using Lincoln Electric MIG STT Root Pipe Welding.
3. Experience in the 6G welding position.
4. Welding qualifications in MMA, MIG, or TIG.
5. Abrasive wheel training.

1. We will provide a permanent job offer and CoS for visa application support.

6. You will cover your own UK visa application costs.
7. You must have sufficient funds to support yourself upon arrival.
8. Satisfactory criminal record checks are required.
9. Minimum employment contract is 2 years, with potential for extension.
10. Repayment of certain costs will be discussed and agreed upon before employment begins.
