Control System Verification Engineer
12 months – Inside IR35 – Derby (3 days p/week on site)
The Controls Systems Verification Engineer is part of the Electrical, Electronics Software and Control Systems Design function. You will be responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of the controls sub-system and the artefacts associated with the integration, verification, and validation of the system. This shall be achieved through development of test strategies, test artefacts and maintainability of test platforms and tools to demonstrate that the system implementation satisfies the validated system requirements.
Key Accountabilities
* Develops and implements verification strategies to validate system requirements using appropriate methods.
* Allocates and manages control system requirements across test platforms.
* Performs functional analysis, including modelling and simulation, to ensure design compliance.
* Designs, executes, and documents control system tests and verification evidence.
* Evaluates test results and provides verdicts against system requirements.
* Supports issue resolution through targeted testing and root cause analysis.
* Collaborates with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to deliver verification outputs.
* May lead teams, contribute to strategic planning, and support process and policy development.
* Produces technical reports and ensures optimal solutions using engineering best practices.
* Works under guidance to enhance integration and verification capabilities.
Key Experiences and any Qualifications
* Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of ARP4754, system architecture, and development constraints across hardware and software.
* Analytical Thinking: Interprets test results effectively, manages risk, and applies appropriate levels of analysis.
