The role involves designing electrical systems to concept stage, ensuring compliance with business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements for government programs, with a focus on technical assurance management to maintain design principles through development and construction. The position also includes assisting the client in tender processes, condition surveys, and handovers.
We seek a passionate building services professional with a proactive problem-solving attitude, experienced in delivering successful, well-engineered projects. The projects involve government and public frameworks, operational and embodied carbon strategies, and acting as client technical advisors.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Managing deliverables through yourself and direct reports
* Leading talent acquisition efforts
* Providing design oversight and managing the development of designs as per contract requirements
* Collaborating with design disciplines, client personnel, and construction teams
* Assisting with reporting and documentation
* Participating in client meetings and design workshops
* Engaging in business improvement initiatives
* Contributing to net zero carbon transition efforts and managing associated emissions and reductions during project delivery
You’ll need to have:
* Good knowledge of statutory regulations and standards
* Technical competence in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
* Collaborative mindset for working with architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants
* Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects
* Knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, power, data, fire engineering, security systems, lifts, and communications systems
* Experience in modelling, simulation, feasibility studies, and whole-life costing
* Understanding of project deliverables, RIBA stages, health and safety, cost control, value engineering, and site inspections
* Proficiency in report preparation, troubleshooting, and advising on projects
* Ability to adapt to change and communicate effectively
* Proficiency with Office 365 tools
* Flexible working approach and good initiative
You’ll also have:
* Chartered status or working towards it
* Proven client advisory experience and ability to challenge non-compliant designs
* Experience presenting technical info to non-technical audiences
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to utilise Revit and related digital tools
