A Bit About The Role

* Meticulous, diligent, and confident; we are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to join our dynamic UK Property Team.
* This role reports to the UK Head of Maintenance, Jason O’Neill, and you will be responsible for managing all the maintenance activity in a defined group of shops across the Pret estate, to ensure our shops remain compliant and well loved.
* You will proactively seek opportunities to drive efficiencies and build strong relationships with our Shops, Ops, and other key stakeholders.
* You will assist in managing and controlling maintenance expenditure in accordance with agreed procedures and budgets.
* You will be responsible for leading several in-house Technician team leaders whilst maintaining overall responsibility for a group of in-house technicians, to ensure we deliver on our SLA’s.
* You will plan, prioritise and implement planned and reactive maintenance work to agreed standards and procedures.
* You will contribute to the development of processes and procedures for the delivery of FM services to allow for continuous improvement.
* This role is a permanent role based within our London Victoria Support Centre, 75B with regular planned travel throughout the UK.

The magic you’ll bring

* Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Highly effective people management skills, able to engage and successfully lead a high-performing team.
* Experience working within maintenance in the retail sector, ideally with recent experience within the food and beverage sector.
* A member of the IWFM with a degree or equivalent in Facilities Management.
* Excellent technical knowledge covering electrical and building services, as well as a thorough understanding of statutory compliance required for commercial retail buildings.
* Extensive experience of dealing with programmes of planned and reactive maintenance.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to handle both complex and sensitive situations.
* Experience in knowing when and how to escalate highly sensitive reactive maintenance issues.
* Fast to respond and concise with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Proven track record of managing external multi trade contractors.

The day to day

* Contribute to the development of a pro-active maintenance service, ensuring works are completed to agreed timescales, regularly updating the Head of Maintenance on SLA performance.
* You will work with the Pret FM Team to ensure call completions and deployment of the technician team is optimised.
* Regularly inspect work carried out by our contractors and internal Tech team to ensure quality and value for money of work completed.
* Identify training needs of self and team and participate in agreed personal development plans.

Obtain competitive quotations for repair and alteration work in accordance with agreed criteria.

* Implement agreed procedures for recovery and redistribution of Shop Equipment.
* Ensure equipment asset information is up-to-date and accurate.
* Oversee ad hoc minor alteration and improvement works to shop premises, including complete shop strip outs as requested by the Head of Maintenance.
* Develop the team leaders and techs by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.
* Contribute to a pro-active maintenance service; inform and update Ops if SLAs are not going to be met.
* Review actual costs against agreed budget for a defined group of premises.
* Ensure order and invoice data is correctly and timely entered by contractors.
