CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator - Turner – Pay Rate: £17.00 to £20.00 per hour – Location: Rugby, Warwickshire – Shift Pattern: Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:00pm
An established precision engineering manufacturer is currently recruiting an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator – Turning to join its growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern machining environment producing high‑precision components across a wide range of industries and materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Programming and editing CNC programs using Fanuc
* Setting and operating Turning machines efficiently and safely
* Producing first‑off components to engineering drawings and quality standards
* Supporting production through tooling preparation, machine setup and process prove‑outs
* Managing tooling wear, offsets and tool life during production runs
* Carrying out in‑process inspection using a range of measurement equipment
* Recording production, setting and scrap information accurately within production systems
* Assisting with continuous improvement and process development activities
* Completing TPM and routine machine maintenance activities
* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
Candidate Requirements
* Strong background in Turning
* Experience programming, setting and operating lathes
* Ability to create and edit programs using Fanuc controls
* Good understanding of tooling, cutting data, machining strategies and material behaviour
* Experience working with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, titanium and Inconel
* Confident using inspection equipment and first‑principles measurement techniques
* Strong attention to detail with a proactive and quality‑focused approach
