We're Hiring: 1st Line Operational Risk Specialist

We're looking for a 1st Line Operational Risk Specialist to join our mission to build a best-in-class, customer-first culture. You'll play a key role in embedding risk control excellence across our Home Finance Distribution team-shaping training, monitoring performance, and ensuring regulatory confidence.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Partnering with the Head of Home Finance Distribution to drive a culture of quality and compliance.
* Managing and monitoring our Training & Competence Scheme and mandatory learning programmes.
* Assessing advice suitability and ensuring customer outcomes hit the mark.
* Working closely with Compliance, Internal Audit, and External Auditors during reviews.
* Identifying training gaps and recommending improvements to policies and processes.
* Leading incident escalation, risk event reviews, and root cause analysis.
* Providing clear, actionable performance metrics aligned with our control frameworks.
* Reviewing customer and broker complaints to spot trends and influence change.
What You'll Bring:
* Strong knowledge of UK mortgage and home finance regulation.
* Solid understanding of banking operations, risk frameworks, and the Three Lines of Defence model.
* Confidence in navigating Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty, and group compliance policies.
* Ideally, Competent Supervisor status or equivalent experience in a regulated environment.
* A proactive, analytical mindset with a passion for doing things better-every time.
