The successful applicant will maintain accurate records of the patient’s care in line with Trust, professional, and departmental guidelines.
The main duties of the role of the Health Care Assistant on the Surgical Admissions Ward are to complete observations, maintain patients' personal hygiene, and support the staff nurses in the bays, working as a team and supporting each other.
The Surgical Assessment Unit is a 38-bedded ward providing care predominantly for general surgical patients. We have recently opened a Surgical ESDC, which can accommodate a variety of surgical patients who are assessed and will leave the department with a plan of care. The team comprises motivated staff who believe in making the patient journey a positive experience.
The ward has a reputation for delivering high-quality care with a holistic approach. We work closely with a range of multidisciplinary teams, including the Colorectal Nurse Specialist, IBD Nurse Specialist, Bariatric Nurse Specialist, Outreach, Nutritional Team, and Vascular team.
The Surgical Assessment Unit values our Trust's core principles; we are a caring, ambitious team motivated to keep up with training and development opportunities.
