Role Summary
Rostering Team Leader – Central Rostering Team, HR Service Centre, Summerfield House, Aberdeen. Report to the Rostering Systems Manager. Lead delivery of a high-quality, responsive rostering service across NHS Grampian.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and support the Central Rostering Team in the effective administration of the Scottish Standard Time System (SSTS) and the Allocate eRostering system.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of workforce data, support service areas with roster creation and optimisation, and process payroll-related data correctly and within strict deadlines.
- Line manage Data Assistants and Rostering Officers, oversee team performance, set priorities and allocate resources to meet service delivery targets.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to system users, contribute to the rollout and ongoing development of eRostering, and support continuous improvement of processes, systems and reporting.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across clinical services, Workforce, HR, Finance and Payroll teams and engage with national groups to support system development and best practice.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with complex workforce, rostering or payroll systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience, or clear evidence of leadership capability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, lead and motivate a team, and communicate complex information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly organised, adaptable and able to operate effectively under pressure.
- Experience of NHS rostering systems such as SSTS or Allocate eRostering, and knowledge of NHS terms and conditions (highly advantageous).
Working Conditions
Full‑time (36 hours per week). Hybrid role with regular attendance in the office required.
